Deluxe Kirton Stirling Chair
Black Dartex - Caversham Vinyl
Product Details
Designed for those with physical and learning disabilities or frail older folk, the Kirton Stirling Chair's main function is to provide exceptional postural support and to promote a healthy, upright sitting posture. The Deluxe integrates the Stirling Dyna-Tek Intelligent Air Seat Module.
This Deluxe version is for people at at high risk or with up to a Grade IV pressure injury following a clinical assessment. Pressure management is critical for those who are seated for long periods or for those at risk of tissue damage. All versions of Stirling Chair have pressure relieving foams on all contact surfaces areas of the chair and further options are available for the seat module in accordance with the occupant's needs.
The Dyna-Tek Intelligent Air module sets a new standard of excellence in seating. Its innovative design delivers more effective pressure redistribution without the need for set up or re-pumping air that has been lost over time.
Intelligent Air incorporates Reactive Airflow technology, a system of air and foam-filled cells with a patented valve system that is designed to displace and adjust air in response to the user's body weight and movement. Because it adjusts automatically to maximise pressure redistribution in any patient, it’s ideal for use in multi-user care environments, such as nursing homes or hospital wards. There is no set-up requirement and no need for the clinician to set the internal air pressure.
Intelligent Air is incredibly lightweight and features a specialist, pressure redistributing, castellated-cut and contoured user interface for effective postural support. The unique layer of air over foam design not only maximises patient comfort, but also assists patients when leaving the chair and ensures effective impact damping to reduce unnecessary spinal stress.
If you are unsure about the suitability of your pressure care, please seek advice and input from a qualified Occupational Therapist, Tissue Viability Nurse, healthcare professional and/or Direct Healthcare Group representative/retailer before purchasing.
The Deluxe Kirton Stirling Chair comes with Dartex on all contact areas to ensure the pressure relieving properties of your chair are working to their full potential. Dartex is a strong, multi stretch, vapour permeable fabric which is simple to wipe clean and truly complements the pressure relief incorporated into the Kirton Stirling chairs. This waterproof material is available in three different colours.
The non-contact upholstery fabric is vinyl which is highly scratch and water resistant while being anti-microbial and anti-fungal making it suitable for demanding applications. This makes it durable and ideal for high-traffic areas where the chair will be used frequently.
For good posture and positioning while seated, the degree of seat tilt to back angle recline combines with lateral support. Elegant simplicity combined with good proportions and attention to detail ensures the Stirling complements many different environments.
This chair's backrest is angled specifically to reduce strain on the back muscles while the chair back rises in the middle to support the user’s head, neck, and shoulders. Also included are discreet and comfortable lateral supports that help relieve localised pressure and promote greater stability.
The arms of the chair are well-padded, supportive, and useful when sitting down or getting up from the chair. The chair is very manoeuvrable and easy to move around safely.
Once your chair order has been placed, it will be ordered to be made and delivered direct from the manufacturer. Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. Delivery will be kerbside on a pallet and is included for most accessible mainland Britain locations. Please enquire about delivery costs to Highlands, Northern Ireland and islands.
